The great irony is it’s not that he pops in during say Nibelheim, or during the events of Midgar, or anything like that. No, Izuku pops up just before Zack and Cloud get ambushed on the cliffs, accidentally saving Zack in the process (since he’s trying to calm down this kid who literally just popped into existence and is justifiably freaking out).
Unintentionally in ducking away, Zack listens to Izuku point out that it seems kinda silly to take such an obvious route while wearing what look like kinda identifiable outfits, and somewhere in Midgar where Tseng is rushing around, trying to figure out how to beat the troopers to Zack he suddenly feels a sigh of relief overtake him which makes him go ????
The trio manages to sneak into Midgar, Izuku using Danger Sense to avoid ambushes and Turks, with Zack guiding them to the Church and Aerith, who is beyond relieved to see Zack alive and more than willing to try and help both get Cloud out of the mako coma the rest of the way, and help figure out if they can send Izuku home.
Izuku helps out around the slums, and is assumed for a while to just be a bitty SOLDIER based on his strength, until people realize his eyes don’t have mako-glow, and the green hair is natural, which then just confuses people and unfortunately catches Hojo’s eye.
Unfortunately for Hojo, he probably should have kept his hands to himself, since as he tries to make a move is when All For One and All Might, reluctantly teaming up, figure out a means of breaking into Gaia, and quickly express their Displeasure, at threats against Izuku. Cloud and Zack are both very satisfied by smashed potato Hojo.
Superman’s sheer anger over Billy Batson’s situation is a sight to behold. Batman and Robin get away with it because he knows it’s the world’s best internship and that Bruce is willing to put out all the stops to protect him. But Billy? He doesn’t have anyone looking out for him. And that pisses off Superman more than anything.

This is a bigger deal than some of you might think, because Superman is one of the heroes in the DC Universe who keeps his secret identity pretty damn secret, because as probably the most powerful and influential person on earth, a lot of people do not wish him well - and would jump at the chance to hold people dear to him as leverage.
Yet, he trusts this poor, scared little kid. To comfort him, and entrust him with his biggest secret - just as Billy did for him.
Superman is just really important, ok?

I think so much of the outlook over fandom would change if many people treated it like it is: a goddamn hobby.
A fandom group is no better nor more revolutionary than a knitting club. It can replicate any real world biases and discriminations and it can also be used to raise money/group people towards causes. It can foster connections that will turn to actual real political action or it can just be a gathering of people who don't know much about each other outside of it.
It can be lovely to experience when you're surrounded by a lovely group and it can be hell when the group is full of cattiness and pettiness . It can be inclusive or it can be exclusive when you're surrounded by bigotry.
Because it's a group of people - it's going to have problems. And when there's a conflict or people are pointing shit out, it needs to be solved so its members aren't spit out in the sake of "avoiding drama". Because it's a group of people, it's not automatically changing the world in a blaze of self grandeur. Because it's a group of people with a common hobby, it can impact its members lives for the better and give them a space to express themselves.
Fandom is a goddamn knitting club. It's not this inherent great, subversive force of good nor this den of evil that's traumatisizing the children. Chill out.

We all deserve to embrace our inner child when making AUs! I want to see the passion and love put behind them!
I never said that Ascendant is absolutely 100% not DFO, I have complained, at length, about how there is no dfo tag on Ascendant and yet, everyone who has ever read it assumed that it’s DFO but in Anyone, which is tagged as such and I spoke at length in the comments and on Tumblr about how AFO is Hisashi, I keep having readers who apparently thinks that the ducky instinct is strong enough to make AFO adopt a random kid who broke into his cell.
